Message from the Tournament Chairs:
On October 2, 2017, the 21st Annual Opportunities Open will be presented by The Rotary Club of Dulles International Airport. Since its inception, this event has raised more than $500,000 for local charities dedicated to helping make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. We are proud to continue that tradition this year with our support of The Arc of Northern Virginia, Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO), ServiceSource, and The Arc of Loudoun at Paxton Campus.
The Rotary Club of Dulles International Airport believes in supporting charities that fulfill one of the basic objectives of Rotary: serving others in the local community. As it has been for the last 20 years, 100% of the proceeds from the tournament will be distributed to deserving charities. We’re excited to continue the tradition started last year of expanding the number of recipients to include even more organizations whose objectives are consistent with those of Rotary International.
We are extremely pleased to be at River Creek Club for the second year. Located in Leesburg, River Creek Club is Washington D.C.’s first private, gated country club community. River Creek Club has a Championship Ault-Clark 18-hole golf course that borders on the Potomac River and provides breathtaking views from its balcony.
We will begin our day with breakfast and a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. We will offer a fully stocked beverage and snack cart with non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. There will be two Bloody Mary holes, with a free Bloody Mary for each golfer. During our North Carolina-style barbecue lunch we will celebrate with awards, great raffle prizes, a silent auction, and exciting living auction. After lunch, from 2-4:00 pm, golfers can enjoy a seated massage offered by Massage Envy for a maximum of 10 minutes per golfer.
There will be a lot of excitement on the course as well. Someone could win a leased car when they get a hole-in-one. Also, watch out for the helicopter when they drop the balls on the fairway for the golf ball drop. Someone could win a big cash prize!
We look forward to another wonderful event and hope you will consider joining us as a participant and corporate sponsor. We'll see you on Monday, October 2, at this year’s event for a great day of golf, community, and friendship.
